M.B. Mawali is a boat only of it’s kind. So, a trip with Mawali in to the Sundarbans is a unique one. Mawali’s low heigh gives a more intimate perspective of the forest and its wildlife, while smaller size of the boat allows it to venture deeper in to the forest. Mawali is truly a quite boat, because it is the only boat in the Sundarbans which uses Solar Energy for utility power supply. And on top of everything, a smaller group size (2-4 people) is the best way to experience this wilderness instead of being with a huge group.

Day 1: BOARDING AND SETTLE IN

The boat will be ready for boarding at Khulna Jailkhana Ghat from the late afternoon of 27 June. Get on-board at your convenient time, have a coffee and slowly settle in. The boat will start cruising in the early evening depending on tide and cruise for about 3-4 hours and anchor at the Dhangmari forest station and do the forest formalities. The boat will be anchored here for the night.
DAY 2: CRUISE THROUGH THE FOREST AND ARRIVE KATKA

In the early morning the boat will enter the forest and will cruise through till late afternoon and arrive Katka, the sanctuary head quarter. Go for a walk on a wooden trail through the forest. This is good for looking at Deer hard. Then, if time permits, take a silent country boat trip to the narrow creeks, this is the best way to see wildlife, especially Birds and occasionally Tiger. The boat will be anchored here for the night. This would be a very good place and time to experience the amazing silence of Sundarbans filled with call of a night bird or deer alarm call or an occasional Tiger call.
DAY 3: EXPLORING THE FOREST

Enjoy the sunrise with your morning coffee. Right after sunrise you will have a silent boat trip on a wooden row boat though the creeks. Then get back to the boat and enjoy a long breakfast and get ready for the day. After breakfast we will take you for about an hour walk through a mixed track (grassland, muddy forest) to the pristine beach of Badamtala facing the Bay of Bengal. Indulge yourself with a refreshing swim in the tropical warm water of the bay. Now you can get back to boat the same way and take a cruise to Kachikhali or if you are adventurous enough you can walk all the way to Kachikhali following the bay. A thought of a fabulous lunch waiting on the boat will keep you going!!! Late afternoon explore the Egg Island and enjoy Sun setting on the bay. Get back to boat and enjoy Chef’s special dinner. Depending on the tide and the weather the captain might decide to cruise for few hours in the night to a nearby forest station on the way back for overnight anchorage.
DAY 4: REST, RELAX AND RECHARGE

After a early morning Silent boat trip in the the boat will resume it’s cruise back to Khulna. The boat will continue cruise till middday and arrive Harbaria Eco Park. Stretch your leg and have a walk through a beautiful Sundari forest on a nice and clean wooden path and meet some residents. The boat will arrive Khulna in the evening and you will disembark after the goodbye dinner on-board Bawali. Pls note that guest will return to Dhaka by evening flight from Jessore, will have to leave boat at Mongla after lunch and driver to Jessore airport by reserved vehicle

The Host Boat

M.B. Mawali and it’s Captain & Crew will host this trip. Mawali is a 13 meters long traditional wooden houseboat with all the basic modern amenities. It has 5 beds, out of which 2 are in a separate room, has one toilet with shower, 2 washbasins and adequate amount of fresh water storage facility. *Plus Taka 5250 forest fees for foreign nationalities.

*Price does not include the transportation (flight, bus, car, etc.) cost from/to Dhaka.

Your booking will be considered confirmed only with an advance payment of minimum 50% of the total tour price. The rest will have to be paid at least 5 days before the departure.
All bookings are subject to the cancellation rules and fees of the company.
Please note that if situation demands, the accompanying guide reserves the right to make adjustments to the above itinerary and if due to fog, rain or any other problems the flights are delayed or cancelled, we will not be responsible. However, we shall do our best (like running the ship late into the night to make up for the lost time) to make your holidays enjoyable. However, if you decide not to avail the trip, you will have to pay the cancellation fee according to our policy.
