Trip Highlights

If you wish to get away from the overwhelming Eid festivity and have a relaxed and refreshing time join us for the Eid Special Trip to the Sundarbans. A 3 days trip from 28 June to 30 June 2017. The trip will travel to Katka and Kachikhali Sanctuary area at the coast of Bay of Bengal and make a stop-over at the Harbaria Eco Park on the way back.

The Highlight of this trip should be the Monsoon. Experiencing rain in Sundarbans is quite a thing. Rain and fresh water coming from upstream gives the forest new life. In the Monsoon wildlife sighting will be much less but if you want to get a glimpse of Sundarbans real beauty, this is the time.

This trip requires a minimum group size of 8 persons

Day 0: BOARDING AND SETTLE IN

The boat will be ready for boarding at Khulna Jailkhana Ghat from the evening of 27 June. If you are coming from Dhaka with the evening flight to Jesore, you will be able to board the boat by 10 in the evening, but if you are coming with night coach you will be arriving in the early morning of 28 June. If the bus is delayed for any reason please let the guide know so that the boast can starts towards Mongla to maintain the time and you can get on-board at Mongla. Which will save at least 3 hours.
DAY 1: CRUISE THROUGH THE FOREST AND ARRIVE KATKA

The boat will begin the cruise to the south in the early morning. After few hours of cruising the boat will stop at Dhanmari forest station to complete formalities and also pick up armed forest guards to stay on-board for the duration of the trip (our boat has separate accommodation for the forest guards, so you will only see them when you will venture into the forest on foot). After that the boat will resume the cruise and arrive Katka / Kochikahli forest station late in the afternoon and if time permits you’ll have a soft walk or a silent boat trip in to the forest. The boat will be anchored here for the night. This would be a very good place and time to experience the amazing silence of Sundarbans filled with call of a night bird or deer alarm call or an occasional Tiger call.
DAY 2: EXPLORING THE FOREST

Enjoy the sunrise with your morning coffee. Right after sunrise you will have a silent boat trip on a wooden row boat though the creeks. This is the best way to experience wildlife in Sundarbans. Hold your breath because there might be a tiger sitting right on the next bend. This boat trip will last for about two hours. Then get back to the boat and enjoy a long breakfast and get ready for the day. After breakfast we will take you for about an hour walk through a mixed track to the pristine beach of Badamtala facing the Bay of Bengal. Indulge yourself with a with refreshing swim in the tropical warm water of the bay. Now you can get back to boat the same way and take a cruise to Kachikhali or if you are adventurous enough you can walk all the way to Kachikhali following the bay. A thought of a fabulous lunch waiting on the boat will keep you going!!! Late afternoon explore the Egg Island and enjoy Sun setting on the bay. Get back to boat and enjoy Chef’s special dinner BBQ. Depending on the tide and the weather the captain might decide to cruise for few hours in the night to a nearby forest station on the way back for overnight anchorage.
DAY 3: REST, RELAX AND RECHARGE

After a early morning Silent boat trip in the the boat will resume it’s cruise back to Khulna.Mongla while you enjoy your breakfast. The boat will continue cruise till middday and arrive Harbaria Eco Park. Stretch your leg and have a walk through a beautifull Sundari forest on a nice and clean wooden path and meet some residents. The boat will arrive Khulna in the evening and you will disembark after the goodbye dinner on-board Bawali. Pls note that guest will return to Dhaka by evening flight from Jessore, will have to leave boat at Mongla after lunch and driver to Jessore airport by reserved vehicle

The Host Boat

M.L. Bawali and it’s Captain & Crew will host this trip. Bawali is a 20 meters long beautiful tourist boat especially designed and built for Sundarbans Expeditions. Bawali has 6 rooms consisting a double and a single bead. It has 2 lounges. Lounges, accommodation area and wash area is completely separate from the crew area to ensure privacy. Visit M.L. Bawali.

Price

Price for this trip is Taka 15,500/person.

*Plus Taka 5250 forest fees for foreign nationalities.

*Price does not include the transportation (flight, bus, car, etc.) cost from/to Dhaka.

Terms and Condition:

Your booking will be considered confirmed only with an advance payment of minimum 50% of the total tour price. The rest will have to be paid at least 5 days before the departure.
All bookings are subject to the cancellation rules and fees of the company.
Please note that if situation demands, the accompanying guide reserves the right to make adjustments to the above itinerary and if due to fog, rain or any other problems the flights are delayed or cancelled, we will not be responsible. However, we shall do our best (like running the ship late into the night to make up for the lost time) to make your holidays enjoyable. However, if you decide not to avail the trip, you will have to pay the cancellation fee according to our policy.
