Regular trip to the Sundarbans with M.L. Bawali

Trip Highlights

This is a basic trip to the Sundarbans. It has a little bit of everything; A glimpse of the forest and it’s extra ordinary wildlife, a bit of adventure and exploration, astounding eating experience and a little bit of time for absolute relaxation and contemplation.

 

This 3 days 2 nights trip starts from Khulna and will travel to Katka and Kachikhali and return back to Khulna. The trip will encompass with at least two Silent Country Boat Trip in to the canals, Walk through muddy forest looking for Pugmark, Walking on wooden path and a Beach Walk. All the meals will be served on board.

Trip Itinerary

  • Day 1: CRUISE TRHOUGH THE FOREST TO KATKA

    The boat will start early morning, depending on the tide from Khulna and will ride the low tide all the way to Katka, the sanctuary headquarter. The boat will arrive Katka hopefully with enough light to have a boat trip or a walk on the wooden walkway. The boat will be anchored at Katka for the night.

  • DAY 2: A DAY IN THE FOREST

    This whole day will be full of activities. In the early morning, after a cup of tea we will have a Silent Country Boat Trip through the narrow creeks. This is the best way to observe wildlife, especially Birds and occasionally tigers. Around 8 breakfast on the lounge. Get ready for next three hours. We will start a gentle walk through the meadow looking at herds of Chital, the spotted deer. after about 40 minutes we will enter into the woods and will reach Badamtala beach. A pristine sandy beach. By now the Sun is high and you can not resist to ump into the tropical warm water. Now you can walk back to the boat and cruise to Kachikhali or you can walk along the beach for about an hour to meet the base there. A huge lunch and a bit rest then enjoy the sunset from the Egg Island. The boat will cruise for few hours during a fabulous BBQ. Then hang out on the lounge or on the observation deck and listen to the sound of the forest or look at the clear sky. The boat will be anchored at Tambulbunia for the night.

  • DAY 3: RECHARGE YOURSELF ON THE CRUISE BACK

    After an early morning Country Boat Trip in the beautiful creeks of Tambulbunia the boat will start head resumes the cruise and reach Harbaria Eco Park by late morning. Enjoy the board walk in Harbaria through a beautiful patch of Sundri and other vegetation. Before it reaches the concrete jungle by evening there will be plenty of time to enjoy the cruise through the magical forest and to have a little bit of time for yourself.

The Boat

Wood Cutters of the Sundarbans are called the Bawali. But in this instance M.L. Bawali is a 20 meters long fully air-conditioned beautiful tourist boat especially designed and built for Sundarbans Expeditions. Bawali has 3 decks; lower deck is for accommodation, wash area. The master bridge, the main lounge and the kitchen is on the middle deck and the upper deck is for observation and relaxation. Price

 

Price for Sundarbans tours depends on many things. Duration and destination of the trip, number of people on-board and their nationality, if the trip is exclusive or mixed group, and many other things. So it is difficult to come up with just a price. Please let us know your desire, we will quote you a price in 24 hours.

 

But to have an Idea, this trip will cost about 200-275 USD per person for non Bangladeshi citizen and about 15000- 17500 Taka for Bangladeshi Citizen.

No illegal forest product will be served on-board and no activity will be allowed in the forest which can potentially damage the forest and/or it’s wildlife in any form.
